ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Orientations of the Board

  • Orientations and strategies of the Board concerning the Human resources department and the development  of the annual action plan ;
  • Development of policies and programs related to the management of human resources.

Work relations and legal aspects

  • Apply and interpret the collective agreements and labour laws;Analyse and settle labour related complaints and grievances;
  • Analyse and settle labour related complaints and grievances;
  • Analyse and settle labour related complaints and grievances;
  • Maintain a harmonious work relation climate;
  • Represent the Board on work relations issues;
  • Implement and support various consultation and concerted-effort mechanisms;
  • Intervene, if necessary, to evaluate problem situations and suggest appropriate solutions.


Staffing, compensation and fringe benefits

  • Recruiting, selection, hiring of teachers and regional positions as well as support for local recruitment, probation & job classification;
  • Apply and maintain all of the working contracts, as well as all policies, procedures and  directives concerning the various employee compensation and fringe benefit plans;
  • Develop and provide human resources management tools adapted to the needs of the school board; transmit all relevant information in order support the Board managers.


Occupational health and safety

  • Create, elaborate and apply all the employee health and safety programs;
  • Employee assistance program
  • Occupational health and safety committees.
