The Kativik School Board provides education to the Inuit of Nunavik.  Its facilities are located in the 14 communities on the Hudson and Ungava Bay coasts.  Its administrative centre, presently located in Montréal, will ultimately be relocated in Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Director of School Operations, evaluate and respond to the needs of the schools.
Coordinate training and development of internal school support team (behavior technicians, special education technicians, student counsellors, and student support persons).
Coordinate the allocation of resources in special education for each community. 
Coordinate, supervise and evaluate the work of the psychologists, pedagogical counselors and support staff in his/her department.
Coordinate external contracts/requests for services in the area of special education.
Help the schools develop, implement and evaluate intervention and action plans with the personnel.
Supervise the creation, revision and implementation of the curriculum for Personal and Social Development.
Address other tasks as requested by his/her immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in a relevant field of study certifying a minimum three (3)-year university program.
Six (6) years relevant experience.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board

REQUIREMENTS:
Fluency in at least two of the working languages of the Board (Inuktitut, French, English);
Must be prepared for frequent travels throughout Nunavik communities.

ASSETS:
Experience in Aboriginal education systems;
A permanent teaching diploma issued by the ministre de l'Éducation, des Loisirs et du Sport du Québec (MELS);
Knowledge of the Régime Pédagogique of the French and English Quebec curriculums.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Class 9 as per the KSB working conditions of managers from $82,467 to $109,960 depending on qualifications and experience.
