The Kativik School Board provides education to the Inuit of Nunavik.  Its facilities are located in the 14 communities on the Hudson and Ungava Bay coasts.  Its administrative centre, presently located in Montréal, will ultimately be relocated in Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Director of School Operations, assess the particular needs of schools in terms of school organization and teaching resources;
Provide ongoing support to school principals;
Assist in the recruitment of teaching staff including participation to Careers Fairs all over Canada;
Coordinate annual administrators’ meetings;
Responsible of the management of student records and electronic attendance (GPI);
Assume any other responsibility compatible with his/her function that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study certifying a minimum three-year university program or hold a senior executive or senior staff position in a school board for which an undergraduate degree is required under the minimum qualifications;
• Five (5) years relevant experience;
• A permanent teaching permit issued by the MEES or a teaching licence recognized under the Education Act for Cree, Inuit and Naskapi Native Persons (R.S.Q., c. I-14).

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board

REQUIREMENTS:
• A minimum of three (3) years in Northern educational systems, preferably within the Kativik School Board;
• Must be thoroughly familiar with the “Régime Pédagogique” and KSB educational programs;
• Experience in recruitment will be an asset;
• Fluency in at least two of the working languages of the Board (Inuktitut, French, English);
• Must be prepared for frequent travel throughout Nunavik.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Class 7 / From $72,556 to $96,741 annually depending on qualifications and experience.
