Program Description

Do you have manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination? Metalworking may be for you!

You’ll be able to:

  • Work with semi-automatic welding machines on steel and stainless steel.
  • Use gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and flux cored arc welding (FCAW) techniques.
  • Work in various industries specializing in welding.

Admission requirements

Candidates must meet certain criteria.

Must meet one of the following conditions:

  • Has obtained at least Secondary III credits or the equivalent in the language of instruction, second language and mathematics;
  • Has obtained an Attestation of Equivalence of Secondary Studies (AESS);
  • Has successfully completed the General Development Test (GDT) with or without specific prerequisites.

Must meet one of the following conditions:

  • Has interrupted their full-time studies for at least 12 months;
  • Is 18 years old when entering training;
  • Has obtained a Secondary School Diploma (SSD) or a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) or their equivalent;
  • Meets the eligibility conditions of Emploi-Québec’s workforce training measure.
