Many Nunavimmiut and Nunavik beneficiaries choose to continue their education!
A significant number of Nunavimmiut choose to continue their education, either in Nunavik or outside the region. This year, a variety of programs and options are available. Read on for all the details.
Programs offered in Nunavik
In 2023–2024, there were a total of 381 students enrolled in one of Kativik’s 15 Adult Education and Vocational Training programs. Among these students, 63 were enrolled in Vocational Training programs (AEVT), and 318 were enrolled in General Education courses leading to a Secondary School Diploma or academic upgrading courses.
In addition, a total of 1,138 Nunavimmiut completed trainings offered through Business and Community Services.
Programs offered outside Nunavik
On a yearly basis, over 175 Nunavimmiut are sponsored by Kativik Ilisarniliriniq to pursue their education outside the region. Sponsored students are enrolled in a variety of programs of study at colleges, universities and vocational training centres in Quebec, Canada and beyond.
