The Kativik School Board will receive the visit of Mr. Yves Bolduc, Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports and Mr. Geoffrey Kelley, Minister responsible for Native Affairs
Kuujjuaq, Nunavik, Qc. (October 10, 2014) – On October 14 and 15, the Kativik School Board will receive the visit of Mr. Yves Bolduc, Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports and Mr. Geoffrey Kelley, Minister responsible for Native Affairs.
“The Kativik School Board welcomes this opportunity to meet, in Nunavik, with the Ministers Bolduc and Kelley,” says Annie Popert, Director General of the Kativik School Board. “We trust that this visit to two Nunavik communities and to three of our schools will lead to an enhanced understanding of the needs of the region in the area of education”, she added.
The ministers will be in Kuujjuaq on October 14, where they will visit the Kativik School Board’s Education Services office, Pitakallak School and Jaanimmarik School. On October 15, they will visit the community of Aupaluk and the temporary premises from which Tarsakallak School is currently operating (a fire burned down the school in March 2014).
Journalists wishing to join the visit of Pitakallak and Jaanimmarik Schools in Kuujjuaq are welcome to do so. The visit to Pitakallak School will start at 2:15 pm. The visit to Jaanimmarik School will start at 3:00 pm.
