The course will be divided as follows:

• 25 hours of theory—all trainees together
• 10 hours of mechanical inspection—between 1-4 people at a time
• 25 hours of practical driving—individual
• 20 hours of safety training—all trainees together
• 2 hours of exams—individual (each trainee will have a 2-hour exam)

This course will equip its participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to:

• Perform general and basic vehicle inspections (preventative maintenance)
• Understand driving theory and road signs
• Practice safe driving techniques
• Understand the common on and off-road maneuvers essential to general highway code compliance, particularly for drivers of Class 3 trucks
• Inspect and test air brakes
• Perform pre-departure circle checks

Must meet the following conditions:

• No current DUI offence
• Medical examination
