Training Description
Acquire these specialized skills and start working! Hours completed count toward apprenticeship. You have the option to accumulate credits for a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Carpentry.
This training will support your professional advancement. It is designed for individuals new to the trade and will also meet the needs of seasoned construction workers.
During the training, you will acquire skills that will prepare you to:
- Plan out work
- Install and level footing forms
- Install concrete wall forms
- Assemble permanent forms
- Plumb and line forms
- Verify work
- Identify the different types of permanent forms
- Install scaffolding and safety accessories
- Build a template to support reinforcing rods and anchors
- Plan the placement of control joints and false frames
- Determine the pouring levels for concrete, remove forms, and ensure drainage and waterproofing.
Admission requirements
Candidates must meet certain criteria.
Must meet the following conditions:
- Be 16 years of age or over.
- Be a Nunavik resident.
